Bölthorn — a name that echoes Norse culture — were formed in 2015 as a Death Metal project by Ivan/Ironcross (guitar/composer), joined by Rob (guitar) and Drake (vocals). From the very beginning, the trio forged a powerful, massive, and melodic sound, quickly turning the initial idea into a fully fledged band.

In 2018 they released their debut album Across the Human Path on Broken Bones Records, recorded at AUDIOCORE Studio in Fontevivo (PR). After the pandemic, the band found stability with Stefano (guitar), Beppe (bass), and Emiliano (drums).

In the summer of 2025, Jessica (formerly guitarist of Injury) officially joined the line-up, replacing Stefano and solidifying the current formation.

Today, Bölthorn are working on their second album, an ambitious concept set for release in 2026.
